The project “Socioeconomic and productive inclusion of family farmers and agro-extractivists in the Cerrado Biome” has strengthened the socio-biodiversity product chain and stimulated coordination between seed producers. In addition, the initiative aimed to broaden the debate on issues involving policy and governance regarding the Cerrado region. The project was conducted for two years, establishing partnerships with community-based enterprises, especially in the territory of the Sertão Veredas Peruaçu Protected Areas Mosaic.
The action also focused on social inclusion with income generation, the sustainable use of socio-biodiversity products, appreciation of traditional communities and preservation of this biome. The project is the result of a partnership between WWF-Brasil and the Humanize Institute.
To celebrate the project’s results at its completion, Forest was commissioned to produce a video showing challenges and solutions. The audiovisual piece is a summary of the activities, featuring the voices of the traditional peoples and communities involved.
